A strong interest in the island for the setting up of a seaplane operation

The Malta Seaplane Association, managed by Jonathan Galea, and Aero Club Como, with the technical consultncy of the Seaplane Team, organized a trip from Como Seaplane Base to Malta with two amphibious aircraft, a Lake LA270 and a Cessna R172K.

The aim was to revitalize the seaplane tradition of water flying in the celebrated islands of the Mediterranean Sea and to promote the setting up of a commercial operation and a flight school for seaplane pilots.

In the occasion, a special postal dispatch was organized and a stamp was issued.
